The RTX 5070's raw raster performance is roughly comparable to competing cards in its bracket. What separates it is the software: DLSS upscaling and frame generation can increase displayed frame rates in supported titles. Image quality, input latency and results depend on the game, mode and base frame rate; generated frames are not equivalent to native rendered frames.

If your library leans on ray-traced showcase games — Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, Black Myth: Wukong — this is the build that gets you playable path tracing at 1440p.

This configuration uses a Ryzen 7 8700F alongside a dedicated RTX 5070. The balance between CPU and GPU limits depends on the game, resolution and target refresh rate. Check benchmarks for your own games, particularly if you want very high frame rates at lower settings.

The trade-off: if the graphics card ever fails, there is no video output for troubleshooting. Keep an old card around if that worries you.
